Speech Pathologists are part of the allied health group and have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at university. They use evidence-based assessments and therapies to
assess, diagnose and treat communication and/or swallowing disorders.
At Osana Speech Pathology, services are provided for all ages, children, teenagers and adults.
Speech pathologists, work with individuals of all ages who experience difficulties with:
- Communication Disorders
- Speaking
- Listening
- Language issues e.g. reading, writing, social skills
- Voice concerns including stuttering
- Swallowing and feeding problems


The key aspects of Speech Pathology:
- Speech Sound Disorders: Difficulty producing speech sounds correctly (e.g., articulation difficulties, stuttering).
- Language Disorders: Problems with understanding and using language (e.g., receptive and expressive language delays or disorders).
- Fluency Disorders: Stuttering and other disruptions in the flow of speech.
- Social Communication: Difficulty with social interaction and communication skills.
- Voice Disorders: Problems with vocal quality, pitch, or loudness.
- Swallowing and Feeding Disorders: Speech pathologists also address difficulties with swallowing (dysphagia) that can affect a person’s ability to eat and drink safely.
